I’d like to welcome everyone to my new blog! This is so exciting! It’s a privilege and honor to share my thoughts, opinions, what I’ve learned and haven’t learned with you. To let you in on many of my perspectives on weight loss, weight maintenance, healthy lifestyles, and the pursuit of dreams.
I’d like to take a moment to share a couple of my lifelong dreams with you. I’ve had these three goals since I was a child:
- To be a teacher
- To be a writer and
- To lose all my excess weight, keep it off and help other people find the same success.
I have been so lucky to have realized all three of these goals. But the most thrilling one for me is number three. I achieved the first part of this goal after gastric bypass surgery in 2004. Then I combined number two and three when I wrote about the surgery.
When I first conceived of writing Fat No More I thought it was a pipe dream and dismissed the idea. But when I found out there was so little written for people two years or more out of the surgery I began to take my dream seriously. And when I received enthusiastic encouragement from everyone around me I jumped in with both feet. Of course I also had an amazing editor/co-author who was my god-send.
I wrote the book for all of you, hoping it would bring some guidance and inspiration, hoping it would have an impact on your lives. The other day I went to Amazon.com to look at my book’s page. I hadn’t been there in a while and was so happy to see there were three new reviews there. I read these new reviews and then all the others and just cried to see in writing how I’ve touched these people’s lives. I felt so humbled and awed to realize that what I had dreamed was really happening.
What are your dreams? What are you looking for to make your life more fulfilling and happy? What can I offer you here? We often don’t even know what we want until we find it. So I invite you to explore my website and read my blogs and the important comments that others share with us here. Maybe you’ll find something valuable, something you’ve been looking for, or something you didn’t even know you were looking for.
